HOT POTATO is helmed by Noura Al Kadri. She is a young, dynamic Bulgarian-Syrian film producer based in Sofia, Bulgaria. She likes to joke that she entered the film world through the back door — film distribution, but realised she was missing all the fun and action happening on set. Nevertheless, this career took her to film festivals and markets around the world, including ones in Abidjan, Berlin, Cannes, Dubai, Hangzhou, London, Tehran, and Tunisia.

She made the big jump to producing 2 weeks before the big lockdown of 2020 - talk about perfect timing. since then she’s made six narrative short films, two dance films and a couple of music videos, with three feature film projects currently in the pipeline. With a keen eye for innovative, character-driven narratives, she is always on the lookout for stories that resonate. Noura loves collaborating with up—and—coming directors, for her it's a mutual process of growth, where both parties push creative boundaries and discover new storytelling possibilities together.
